Educational Organisation and Administration
Presentation
Articulate, objectives, knowledge, skills and competencies for the exercise of positions and functions of educational administrationmanagement of education in different types and levels of organisation, still that in line with the indicators of definition of the levels of the Framework European of Qualifications, in this case for level 7.
The course runs over four semesters, corresponding to 30 credits per semester, for a total of 120 ECTS. It is preferably run on an after-work basis.
Objectives
The course has as objectives:
- Deepen knowledge in the field of educational organisation and administration;
- Develop skills for the administration and management of educational organisations;
- Mobilizar para o cumprimento das questões éticas e deontológicas, que se insurgem ao exercÃcio de cargos e funções de administração, direção, gestão e coordenação educacionais;
- Develop, in an autonomous manner, skills for learning throughout life, in the field of specialisation in educational organisation and administration;
- Promote a critical understanding of the political-administrative and managerial phenomena of education;
- Critically develop knowledge about the principles, theories and practices of administration and management of educational organisations;
- Master educational assessment, diagnosis, planning, management, and intervention methods and techniques capable of fostering appropriate responses to the challenges and demands placed on educational organisations;
- Contribute to research and production of knowledge in the area of Educational Administration Educational Administration.
Career Opportunities
The course is primarily aimed at professionals in the field of education who wish to further their training and specialise in the field of educational organisation and administration, in order to qualify for positions and roles in the management, administration and coordination of educational services and organisations.
The main contexts for professional intervention are school organisations and other educational organisations and institutions, whether public, social sector or private, as well as other organisational configurations in the form of education and training centres and departments structurally integrated into various organisations, associations, ministerial services and local authorities.
In more concrete terms, obtaining the diploma is particularly important for career progression in teaching, as provided for in the Statute of the Teaching Career of Educators and Teachers in Primary and Secondary Education (as amended by Law No. 16/2016 of 17 June), as well as for the exercise of positions and functions in conjunction with the regime of autonomy, administration and management of public pre-school, primary and secondary education establishments (Decree-Law No. 75/2008, of 22 April).
