This master´s course in Special Education (Cognitive and Motor Domain) is based on a reflexive and critical model oriented towards the research, analysis and intervention in emergent situations of professional practice in the area of Special Education, with particular focus on SEN, due to limitations in cognitive and motor functions. Its dominant orientation is the need to provide professionals with a solid background in the area of specialization, focusing on pedagogical strategies and methodologies adapted to cognitive and motor problems, as well as on a critical and investigative attitude concerning the models of current references.

Career Opportunities

The career opportunities provided by this master’s course are the following:

  • Integration into technical teams of institutions and services supporting and rehabilitating disabled people;
  • Teaching functions within the Special Education area;
  • Special education professional in offices/development support centres for children and youth with Special Educational Needs (SEN);
  • Integration into multidisciplinary teams of regular schools to support children and youth with SEN and /or other risk issues;
  • Development of research projects within the Special Education area;
  • Trainer/Consultant functions in the fields of Special Education/Special Educational Needs.
