ESEV subscribes to a Student Insurance policy that guarantees personal accident cover (other than illness) for its students as part of their academic activities.
An ESEV student is one who is enrolled in curricular units of a degree course (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), a professional higher technical course (CteSP), non-degree training (continuing or professional) or any other postgraduate training, regardless of its duration, which is the responsibility of the ESEV.
Once the student has enrolled/registered and paid the insurance to ESEV, he/she is covered by the Student Insurance, as agreed between ESEV and the insurance company, covered by the policy.
How to proceed in the event of an accident:
1. You should go to the nearest hospital or health centre to receive medical attention;
2. Within a maximum of 5 (five) working days of the claim, the student (or their legal representative) must go to the Academic Services to report the claim by handing in the duly completed Personal Accident claim form, together with the other documentation required for this purpose.
Documentation must be submitted in person:
- Claims reporting;
- General Information on Personal Data Protection – Consent;
- Medical reports (e.g. Alert file);
- Results of clinical analyses and/or other tests, if applicable;
- Payment receipt for the emergency episode, if applicable;
- Receipts for other medical expenses, medicines and treatments duly accompanied by prescriptions, if applicable;
- Copy of citizen’s identity card, duly updated;
- Document proving the beneficiary’s IBAN for reimbursement purposes, which identifies the account holder and the bank
-
Note: All the above documents must be delivered to Academic Services within 5 (five) working days of the accident.
The student must pay the respective expenses (obligatory) to the entity where the medical services were provided and will then be reimbursed.
After completing and attaching the documents, which must be originals and the responsibility of the injured party, the Academic Services will forward the Claim Report – Personal Accidents and all the mandatory documentation to the Insurance Company for analysis and subsequent settlement of the claim, namely for the purposes of reimbursement of expenses.
Please note: If students feel that this policy does not fully satisfy their interests, they can arrange other or additional insurance, for which they are entirely responsible.
