The Master’s Degree in Applied Communication seeks to train qualified professionals in the field of communication, an increasingly digital, dynamic, competitive and constantly changing context. The power of communication is undeniable and keeping up with global trends has become a necessity for any professional with an entrepreneurial spirit.

The course offers comprehensive training, with a curriculum structure composed of theoretical and practical subjects, and follows a pedagogical vision geared towards the job market, with space for research, experimentation, debate, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Master’s Degree in Applied Communication allows you to choose one of the following areas of specialisation:

– Strategic Communication
– Audiovisual and Multimedia

It runs for 4 semesters, corresponding to 30 semester credits and a total of 120 ECTS, and operates on an after-work basis (from 6 p.m.) and b-learning.

The study cycle seeks to:

– increase training and research in Communication Sciences;
– prepare professionals and researchers in the fields of strategic communication, multimedia and audiovisual;
– expand scientific knowledge, discovering and creating innovative opportunities in integrated communication strategies;
– prepare for mastery of topics related to the information and knowledge society;
– produce professionals capable of responding effectively to the new demands of content production and management for different platforms.

The specialisation in Strategic Communication seeks to apply principles and tools that enhance the creation and evaluation of concepts; explore behavioural changes in society and organisations, as well as their relationship with the strategic potential offered by communication technologies and their tools; and associate dynamic knowledge/innovation with communication planning processes applicable to different types of organisations. Communication, Innovation, Trends, Digital Media, Entrepreneurship, Branding, Social Media, Storytelling, Events, Methodologies, Research, Seminar, Project and Internship are some of the keywords associated with the specialisation.

The Audiovisual and Multimedia specialization seeks to strengthen students’ training, preparing them for work in diverse areas that involve the application of concepts and practices related to the audiovisual and multimedia field; promote the integration of different areas of knowledge in the development of audiovisual and multimedia communication solutions; expand analytical and reflective skills in the field of video and film, mastery of the principles of audiovisual and multimedia language in different communication contexts, and deepen theoretical and practical knowledge for the creation of audiovisual and multimedia productions.

Career Opportunities

The Strategic Communication branch aims to train professionals capable of:

– Performing content programming and production functions in the area of Institutional Communication;
– Managing online communities;
– Providing consulting or advisory services in Communication;
– Coordinating event programming and organization activities;
– Performing Account / Account Supervisor / Account Director functions in advertising or communication agencies.

The Audiovisual and Multimedia branch aims to train professionals capable of:

– Performing multi-skilled functions in companies in the audiovisual and multimedia areas;
– Develop activities to coordinate interactive multimedia projects and implement and promote audiovisual communication strategies;
– Collaborate in the design and development of multimedia communication and image production solutions;
– Perform audiovisual and multimedia content management functions for different platforms;
– Perform audiovisual communication criticism and analysis functions.
