The master’s degree course in Primary Education and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Secondary Education lasts four academic semesters. The course is aimed at holders of a bachelor’s degree in Basic Education and qualifies them to teach Primary Education and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Secondary Education.
Objetives
The fundamental objectives of the course are:
– To provide professional qualification for teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education;
– To promote the development of professionals capable of adapting to the characteristics and challenges faced by schools and teachers;
– To encourage the mobilization of knowledge, skills, and competencies obtained in previous and current training experiences in the development, in a real context, of innovative and interventionist professional practices appropriate to specific situations in the classroom, school, school group, and its articulation with the community;
– Encourage the development of education professionals qualified to perform teaching duties associated with the capacity for educational intervention, research, reflective analysis, and lifelong learning.
