Performing Arts Production
Presentation
The Higher Professional Technician in Performing Arts Production course is a new type of short-term higher education programme, corresponding to a professional educational offering at level 5 of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning. Due to its nature, it is expected to achieve two important objectives: i) to facilitate the rapid integration of graduates into the labour market; ii) to enable students to continue their studies, maintaining a direct link to the first cycle of higher education (bachelor’s degree).
This course aims to train professionals with technical and artistic skills who are capable of promoting artistic/cultural intervention projects with various functions in a production context, either independently or as part of multidisciplinary work teams. As such, the training profile is based on an interdisciplinary perspective, in line with the current demands of the performing arts, providing students with techniques for analysis and artistic creation tailored to work in diverse areas, which include the application of multidisciplinary concepts and practices. To this end, the aim is for students to be able to plan, design and carry out projects that enhance performance, legitimising the expectations of the labour market, as well as pursuing more in-depth studies in terms of research and theorisation in the area.
– Promote and encourage recreational, artistic and cultural activities in the production of performing arts events, tailored to the context in which they take place (theatres, museums, cultural centres, open-air venues, etc.).
– Manage and coordinate cultural programmes in conjunction with the surrounding community, based on local and regional cultural promotion.
– Stimulate the production of artistic and cultural events by coordinating structures, processes, equipment and active means of participation.
– Develop cultural promotion programmes and actions to disseminate artistic heritage in exchanges between entities and the public.
– Develop (as an author, producer or collaborator) cultural and artistic projects that consolidate practices (interpretation, performance and artistic creation) with technical knowledge (lighting, sound, image, sets and costumes).
– Promote artistic and cultural intervention strategies that are particularly flexible and adaptable to different types of audiences, in response to new imperatives of the entertainment industry.
